05 Etude Temblor Pinot Noir ($60) ☺☺☺☺

This wine was one of our first purchases on our inaugural trip to Napa. When we tasted the Etude range of wines this one stood out as a keeper and it has been sitting in the wine fridge since 2008. Opened about 1 hour before drinking, the initial nose was an earthy style with red cherries dominating. The tannins have mellowed and left the fruit to talk for itself. On the palate there is a wonderful light cherries and raspberries all with a hint of spice and licorice This wine should last a few more year yet, but quite honestly it is tasting really great right now so why risk it deteriorating.
